Review
An undisputed answer to a question about the moai
配對提示:…has definitively proved the moai builders were Polynesians, but not how they moved their creations.
A theory which supports a local belief
配對提示:…archaeological evidence backs up Rapanui folklore.
題目:…the writer refers to a shape-matching test in order to illustrate?
We certainly do have an inclination to follow the crowd. When asked to make simple perceptual decisions such as matching a shape to its rotated image…if they see others doing the same.
答案:our tendency to be influenced by the opinions of others.
題目:What do the experiments…suggest about the painting of Mondrian?
Mondrian’s works are deceptively simple, but eye-tracking studies confirm that they are meticulously composed, and that simply rotating a piece radically changes the way we view it…
答案:They are more carefully put together than they appear.
Neurological studies of the brain, for example, demonstrate the impact which Impressionist paintings have on our __________.
The blurred imagery of Impressionist paintings seems to stimulate the brain’s amygdala…Since the amygdala plays a crucial role in our feelings…
答案:emotions (我選interpretation,但意思是an explanation or opinion of what something means )
She also observes that pleasing works of art often contain certain repeated ________ which occur frequently in the natural world.
線索提示:…appealing pieces both abstract and representational, show signs of ‘fractals’ — repeated motifs recurring in different scales.
答案:images (我選layout,但意思是the way that something is arranged)
(6) Section 3的YNNG題
題目:People’s taste in paintings depends entirely on the current artistic trends of the period. — No
While the fashions of the time might shape what is currently popular, works that are best adapted to our visual system may be the most likely to linger once the trends of previous generations have been forgotten.
我選Not Given,但題目裡面的確有講到current trends (fashion)
